Arborist/Tree Climber

The main duty of an arborist/tree climber is to ensure trees are healthy, in safe condition, and to repair, cable, prune, and remove dead, diseased or declining trees or other woody plants. Standard work hours are between 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work.

Our arborist/tree climbers:

Work with a team to perform removals, pruning, cabling, and plant health care.
Identify potentially hazardous trees and other tree-related problems.
Recognize disease and insect problems of trees and woody plants.
Maintain records of work performed and perform job-related duties.

Preferred qualifications:

Three years’ experience directly related to the outlined duties and responsibilities.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement. This may be substituted for experience in the field.
ISA Arborist certification or a willingness to acquire it.
CDL driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
Experience in aerial bucket truck operation and tree climbing.

Required qualifications:

A valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
Ability to obtain Class A CDL, if needed.
Driving record that’s approved by our third-party insurance provider.
Knowledge and experience in tree care crew work and safety practices.
Ability to identify native and introduced trees and shrubs species.
Working knowledge of each species’ characteristics.
Comfortable working at varying heights.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Strong communication, listening skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
