Vineland uses the Tree Care Industry Association’s Academy Career Pathway as part of our in-house training. It includes online coursework, on-the-job skills checks, and ANSI and OSHA standards checks.
While a related degree can provide a baseline for people learning the trade, it’s not mandatory. More important is the curiosity and desire to learn about trees and what affects them. Many of our arborists have learned everything they know through on-the-job training, self-study, and education seminars, including our two ISA Board Certified Master Arborists.
Our work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and loud noises. It requires a lot of physicality, including heavy lifting, plus pushing and pulling objects over 50 pounds.
You’ll be trained to handle potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment.
